Where to eat without over-planning

Apollonia's steno lane concentrates excellent dinner options, book one night, walk in the other two. For lunch, beach tavernas at Platis Gialos and Vathi need no reservation in shoulder season; August weekends reward arriving before 1 p.m.

Artemonas bakeries suit a morning coffee stop between Kastro and south-coast drives. Faros tavernas work when you want fish after Chrissopigi without backtracking through Apollonia.

Optional half-day swaps

If Day 2 feels beach-heavy, swap an afternoon for a short hike near Kastro or a pottery stop in Vathi workshops. If rain rare but happens, Apollonia shops and the folklore museum fill a morning while you wait for clearer skies.
