Kamares port: arrival, beach, and pickup
Kamares is Sifnos’ ferry port and a full sandy bay with cafés, bakeries and rooms. Apollonia is a short drive uphill. Artemis can arrange car pickup at Kamares on request; scooters are collected in Apollonia.

First steps off the ferry
- Clear the ramp with luggage
- Note return ferry boards / ticket offices for later
- Meet your Artemis contact if you booked Kamares car pickup, or take a taxi / bus toward Apollonia
- Optional: first swim on the bay if your hotel check-in is later
What Kamares offers
- Sandy beach with seasonal sunbeds
- Tavernas, cafés, bakeries, mini-markets
- Rooms and hotels steps from the port
- Pottery workshops and hiking trailheads
- Port authority / information touchpoints in season
Beach at the port
Kamares is genuinely swimable. Not just a transit deck. Families often spend arrival or departure afternoons here so luggage stays simple.
Up to Apollonia
The road climbs ~5–6 km to the capital. Night arrivals still feel straightforward in a car; on foot with heavy bags it does not. This is why so many visitors rent immediately.
Artemis pickup notes
- Cars: Apollonia desk by default; Kamares meeting on request when your boat docks.
- Scooters: Apollonia only.
- Share ferry name / ETA on WhatsApp if running late.
